Our first visit to Killen’s this week was amazing! We made a reservation for a party of 10, and they were incredibly accommodating. We started with two appetizers—the Pork Belly Burnt Ends, which I could eat all day, and the Brisket Nachos, both of which were fantastic. For my entree, I went with the two-meat, two-sides combo: brisket, sausage, creamed corn, and beans. Everything was delicious! We’ll definitely be coming back.
Food was really good, you could tell the amount of time and dedication put into the preparation. Our server, Fatima, was amazing at explaining everything to us. The pork ribs were my favorite, it didn’t even need any sauce! Be sure to make a reservation, especially if you plan to go for dinner. The only annoying thing was the amount of flies bothering us throughout our meal inside the restaurant. Otherwise, this place is worth the hype!
It amazes me that there is often still a line out the door on weekends, but it is still as worth the wait now as it has always been. The brisket is tender and full of flavor. They have other dishes besides meat by the pound like nachos and quesadillas that looked delicious on the next table over. Maybe next trip...
5-Star Review: If you’re looking for a flavor combo that totally redefines indulgence, the Churro French Toast Sandwich is an absolute must-try! This creative twist on a sandwich is nothing short of genius — crispy, cinnamon-sugar coated French toast on the outside, packed with juicy, smoky meat and tangy pickled onions inside. The sweet and savory contrast is bold but beautifully balanced. And let’s talk about those fries — golden, hand-cut, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite is comfort food bliss. For 18, you get a full-on flavor experience that’s memorable and unique. Easily one of the best specials I’ve ever had. I’d give it more stars if I could!
I love everything about this place! My family has been coming here for years.. they are consistent (quality, portion size, and flavor), and the customer service is great. Our fav is the brisket, ribs, creamed corn, brussel sprouts and bread pudding. The sweet bbq sauce is amazing, tangy is second choice. There’s plenty of parking around the back and the line moves fast. The atmosphere is on par with a bbq joint, and the country music is a vibe.
Visiting Texas, I wasn’t passing up brisket tacos. We came a few hours after open. I love how clean it was inside. Servers were accommodating. Once the server started cutting the brisket, I knew it was going to be tender. The brisket was very delicious. I wish I had asked for the corn tortillas to be toasted but they were still yummy. The rice & beans had the perfect seasoning & hint of spice. The pico was fresh & I really loved the sauces—tangy, sweet, & coffee. Surprisingly, I loved the coffee sauce the most. My to-go desert was bread pudding and baby... I haven’t had some that delicate since my granny (born in the 1920s).
The moist brisket was great, had perfect bark and flavor, rendered perfectly, fatty, moist and delicious. Really loved the crunchy bark, I couldn't stop talking about the bark on the drive home it was that good. Can't wait to go back to try a beef rib. Their pork belly burnt ends are worth getting as well. Sausage was great. Turkey was decent with some of their amazing sauces (Their Coffee BBQ sauce is good enough to buy a bottle) Creamed corn and the Mac and cheese were good. Brisket sealed the deal for the 5 stars.
The best brisket we’ve ever had. Terry Black’s and Salt Lick couldn’t handle a lick of Killen’s food. Creme Brulee cheesecake was good, although it could have had a better crust. Very delicious sides, and very quaint interior. Servers were efficient and respectful. The only gripe I have is with price, but I will definitely drive out here specifically for this joint again.
